Rock the Bells Recap [VIDEO]
It’s taken me a few days longer than expected, but I’ve finally got some video from last weekend’s “Rock the Bells” concert at Blaisdell Arena to share with all of you.
The picture you see above was taken from the loge seats on the makai side of the arena, looking down towards the floor. Definitely not as many people as were at the Gwen Stefani shows, but it was a high-energy vibe nonetheless.
If you missed it, here’s what I had to say about Saturday’s performances.
And here’s the first video: “Da Rockwilder” featuring Method Man. His buddy Redman was a no-show, so other members of the Wu-Tang Clan stepped in to help out. Meth sure was into the crowd-surfing…
A shorter clip from the final part of the Clan’s one-hour set:
What did you think about the show? While I was there, I met the mainland promoter from Guerilla Union and dropped some knowledge about the “Greatest Hawaii Hip-Hop Show of 2005 That Nobody Saw,” aka the Public Enemy gig at Kapiolani Community College that completely bombed a couple of years ago.
Can you imagine if “Rock the Bells” was done right on a Saturday afternoon up at KCC?
I’m getting excited just thinking about it.
