The rumors started flying at Pipeline Cafe on Wednesday before the Honolulu Police Department had even cleared the scene.

“There was a huge brawl at Pipe tonight!”

“Some dude got killed!”

“HPD was arresting people outside the club!”

None of those things happened.

At some point during the Chiodos show on Wednesday, an unidentified male suffered a serious head injury and was taken to the hospital. He was unresponsive and bleeding profusely when an ambulance arrived to transport him, causing police to believe they were dealing with a crime scene.

Tom Moffatt Productions has announced that tickets for a third Journey concert at the Blaisdell Arena will go on sale tomorrow at 9 a.m.

Prices remain the same – $55, $65 and $75 – and customers still have a six-ticket limit when purchasing. You can also buy via telephone by calling (800) 745-3000.

The new show will take place on March 28, which originally was supposed to be the day Journey played at the Waikoloa Bowl on the Big Island. According to TMP, the new Big Island show will be on either March 29, March 30 or March 31. An exact date will be announced tomorrow at noon.

People holding tickets for the Big Island concert do not need to do anything if they still plan to attend; those who need a refund are asked to return to the original point of purchase.

Society of Seven Las Vegas photos

Local singer Jasmine Trias has announced plans to reunite with the Society of Seven Las Vegas (pictured) this month, following a successful run with the group last summer.

Beginning this weekend, Trias will join the SOS-LV for shows at 8:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through April 4 at the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach’s Main Showroom.

“Jasmine was a hit with the Society of Seven Las Vegas cast when she performed with them last year and we’re so excited to have her back at the Outrigger Main Showroom,” said Outrigger’s Fran Kirk via a press release. “Jasmine adds an element of freshness and femininity to the Society of Seven Las Vegas, and audiences will be surprised by her growth, and also by the broad scope of musical genres she is able to excel in.”

Trias is scheduled to perform songs from “Flower Drug Song,” “Miss Saigon,” and “Dream Girls” along with impersonations of Beyonce, Britney Spears, Natalie Cole and Shakira. She’ll also reprise a few “American Idol” favorites for her most loyal fans.

According to Outrigger’s website, tickets for each performance are $37.25 with a pre-show dinner at Hula Grill and preferred show seating package available for $75.

It was a madhouse at Jimmy Buffett’s at the Beachcomber last week, when the restaurant’s namesake hosted a VIP grand opening party on Thursday.

Hundreds of fans, industry insiders and even a few members of Buffett’s extended family were on hand for his performance, which was only scheduled to last an hour.

With most of the Coral Reefer Band in attendance (including ukulele player Jake Shimabukuro) and a special guest appearance by his buddy Henry Kapono, Buffett ended up playing nearly twice as long as originally planned.

Legendary rock band Iron Maiden made a stop in Honolulu earlier this week, parking their customized Boeing 757 at Honolulu International Airport before spending Monday night in Waikiki.

By now, they’re in Mexico for the next leg of the “Somewhere Back in Time” 2009 world tour.

After selling out the Blaisdell Arena in less than two hours last weekend, promoter Tom Moffatt has announced a second Journey concert will take place there next month.

The new date is actually a day before the previously announced show on March 26 at the Blaisdell. Tickets for the March 25 performance go on sale at 9 a.m. Saturday at all Ticketmaster outlets and the Blaisdell Box Office.

Prices remain the same ($55/$65/$75), and people in line will only be allowed to purchase six tickets per person. Call (800) 745-3000 that day to buy yours over the phone.

The last two times Pepper came to Oahu, they were the opening act.

Three years ago, it was 311; in 2004, they were part of the first-ever “Band Camp” concert at the Falls of Clyde.

But when the boys from the Big Island walked out to the roar of a sold-out crowd at Pipeline Cafe on Saturday, it was obvious that all 1200-plus people were there just to see them.

At least one radio station is expected to announce Monday that Lil Wayne will make his Hawaii debut in April at the Blaisdell Arena.

On-air personalities at Hot 93.9 have teased listeners with a “Lil” concert announcement to come on Monday morning, and sources at the station have confirmed an April 4 show with opener Keri Hilson. Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. Feb. 28, although prices weren’t disclosed.

Unfortunately, there is no listed date in Honolulu on the Ticketmaster website or Wayne’s official home page. I’ve got calls in to Blaisdell management and the mainland promoter responsible for this concert, so I hope to get official confirmation and more details tomorrow.

An April date in Honolulu would follow a nine-city stretch of Wayne’s “I Am Music” tour that’s scheduled to take him from Rhode Island to Utah.

According to MTV, Wayne recently delayed the release of his new album, “Rebirth,” from April 7 to May 19. Visit his MySpace profile to listen to the first single, “Prom Queen.” A music video for the track is also expected to be released soon.

And if you care about his thoughts on sports, Wayne has joined the roster at ESPN as a blogger and on-air commentator. His recent appearance on “Around the Horn” was a little surreal, to say the least.

Update (2/23/09): Hot 93.9 announced the show this morning and has started airing commercials for the concert. However, a source at the Blaisdell tells me the mainland promoters were sent a contract and have yet to return a signed copy. Stay tuned.

Update (2/24/09): Ticketmaster now has the show posted online. Tickets are priced from $59.75 to $125.75 and go on sale at 9 a.m. Saturday.

The fine folks from the Mountain Apple Company got in touch earlier this week with an exclusive sample from Brother Noland’s upcoming album, “Hawaiian Man.”

That’s Mr. Conjugacion, above, in one of the MAC studios last November. His last album, the Na Hoku Hanohano Award-winner “Mystical Fish,” was released in 2006.

“This entire album is different than his usual sound,” wrote Mountain Apple’s Mike Pooley in an e-mail. “His back to basics repertoire on ‘Hawaiian Man’ is enhanced by his evolution of style.”

I’ve got to admit that Noland’s music doesn’t rank very high on my iTunes library’s play count, but I respect his fresh as an artist (“Coconut Girl” is still the truth!) and admire his ability to persevere in an industry that’s incredibly difficult to navigate.

He’s like a soul surfer, making the music he wants on his own terms while clearly enjoying the ride.

According to a story posted Tuesday night on KGMB’s website, Journey has announced three Hawaii concerts next month on Oahu, Maui and the Big Island. They return to the islands following performances here in 2002 and 2004.

The band will start at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center on March 24, followed by shows at the Blaisdell Arena on March 26 and the Waikoloa Bowl on March 28. Next month’s Hawaii gigs follow the band’s spring tour of Japan, the Philippines and China.

At this point, the only concert listed on Ticketmaster is the Big Island date, although the band’s MySpace page confirms all three shows. Journey’s latest album, “Revelation,” was released last year with Arnel Pineda (pictured) replacing former lead singer Jeff Scott Soto.

Tickets for the Oahu concert go on sale at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Blaisdell Box Office and all Ticketmaster outlets. KGMB reports prices will range from $55 to $75.

Update (2/18/08): Just got off the phone a few minutes ago with a representative for Tom Moffatt, who confirmed all the information in the KGMB item above. Additionally, tickets for the Honolulu show will be limited to six per customer when they go on sale at 9 a.m. Saturday. It appears that I wasn’t included on a distribution list for a press release that was sent via e-mail last night.
