A statement released on the White Stripes’ website today announced an indefinite postponement of the band’s upcoming tour.

Scheduled to start on Thursday, the tour would have brought the White Stripes to Honolulu in October for a concert at Blaisdell Arena.

According to the statement:

“The White Stripes announced today that they are canceling their forthcoming tour due to health issues. Meg White is suffering from acute anxiety and is unable to travel at this time.”

Tickets for the Honolulu show were scheduled to go on sale Friday. No word from promoter Tom Moffatt about when (or if) the concert will be rescheduled.
